Douglas Channel LNG
This small-scale liquefied natural gas project is located on the west side of the Douglas Channel, south of Moon Bay, on District Lot 99. The project will be a barge-based floating facility with the ability to produce 550,000 tonnes of LNG per year.
About This Project
This small-scale project is being led by the Douglas Channel LNG Consortium. Members of the Consortium include: AIJVLP, a limited partnership between AltaGas Ltd. and Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd., EDF Trading and EXMAR. The project is located on the west side of the Douglas Channel, south of Moon Bay, on District Lot 99.
The project will be a barge-based floating LNG facility with the ability to produce 0.55 million tonnes per year. Long term lease agreements have been executed with the Haisla Nation for land and water tenure. Pipeline capacity agreements with Pacific Northern Gas for long term gas supply on their existing pipeline network serving Kitimat has also been secured. The Consortium expects LNG exports could start as early as 2018.
