Smithers Regional Airport Industrial Lands

The Town of Smithers has recently rezoned 53.5 hectares of land at the Smithers Regional Airport to accommodate future airport industrial development.

About This Project

The Smithers Regional Airport, located 5 kms northwest of the Town of Smithers, occupies approximately 340 hectares of land adjacent to the north side of Yellowhead Highway 16. The Smithers Regional Airport is part of a regional air system that links domestic and international services. It is also the furthest north registered airport with scheduled commercial passenger and charter flights. Smithers Regional Airport has the highest number of air carriers in the Northwest with 5 scheduled flight carriers, 2 charter carriers, and 3 helicopter companies based at C-YYD.

The airport land represents a unique development opportunity for future airport related activities due to its proximity to regional markets and unique airside, roadside, and rail links.

Current standard lease rates range from $1.70 to $3.00/sqm. Standard terms are 5 year leases with options up to 20 year leases.
